Redeeming your Comp Points

Added: May 30, 2012

As soon as you sign up to an online gambling site and whether it is a poker site, an online casino, a sportsbetting site, bingo site or other similar site, you will find that most operators reward you for spending your cash by giving you Loyalty Points.

The amount of points that you can earn will vary at each gambling portal. It may be that for each $10.00 you spend in the real cash mode, you could earn 1.00 loyalty point. You may even receive a complimentary amount of points just for signing up with them, so you could start with anywhere from 100 points up to a maximum of 1000 points as soon as you register with them.

Once you have earned enough points, you will be able to visit the cashier section and then exchange these points for real cash which you can then spend within the casino and usually on any of their games. There may be a minimum amount of points that you will have to collect before you can redeem them, for example 1000 points.

Some online casinos will automatically release cash bonuses in small increments when you have achieved certain milestones, so you may never have to visit the cashier to exchange the points.

If the casino has a VIP loyalty programme, you might find that it starts from Bronze and could work its way up to Silver, then Gold and perhaps Diamond or Platinum. As you progress through their VIP hierarchy, you will probably find that you can earn more points per $10.00 spent in the real cash mode. For example, instead of spending $10.00 and only earning 1.00 Comp Point, you could now earn 2.00 points for each $10.00 wagered at Gold or Diamond level for example.

Players must also be aware that in order to earn these points, certain games will give you a better points-per-stake ratio in the real cash mode. Most online casinos will award more points when you play on games including classic slots, video slots, keno or other instant win games such as scratch cards.

If you play on table and card games such as Caribbean Stud Poker, Casino Hold'em, Blackjack, Roulette or any other similar game, you probably won’t be able to earn as many points, so it’s always better to familiarise yourself with what games award the most points by reading the terms and conditions or if you are still unsure, you can contact the customer support.

Instead of just being able to redeem your points for cash, you may also be able to exchange them for other items, but this will vary at each online casino. For some players, a good VIP program is what counts the most, but other players they may not be that interested in collecting points or they may even be unaware that they are even collecting them as they play.
